Vol. 1 Ch. 2 P. 26

What we’ve shared may be likened to an accident,
and that’s how I know we will never forget each other.
No one forgets the accident they survived.

  1. I have led such a sheltered life. The only accident I have been in was slipping on the ice and there was nothing slow motion about it at all. I don’t remember any time at all between before and after. It was amazing. And the same for the surgery – I thought they would make me count down from a hundred or something, but it was just the same, no time whatsoever.
I am thankful for having had such a personally sheltered life. I have seen some accidents and they are nearly as traumatic for the witnesses. They never forget the accidents with or without survivors. The people in your picture look like they have all just survived something.

    • You’re lucky, Carroll! 🙂

I had surgery when I was seven and they made me count down from 11. I think I never got to 9 — I was already unconscious then. I can still remember the round lights of the operating room above me.

  2. I have been in a few accidents as well and I def remember them all. Everything was in slow motion and even though it happened so fast it literally played like a frame by frame movie in my head. It was so cool because I was able to process certain things and respond on what seemed like an infinite amount of time, even as the car was careening through space, it was incredible. In regards to relationships with people though applying the term “accident” is thought provoking…there are certainly people who I have met and either for good or for bad I will never forget.

      – This is so true. I had an accident the other day and I remember it as both fast and slow at the same time.

      – I’m sure we all do.
