We write the stories you will never tell.
This one caught my breath and made me want to shut my mind off for a minute. Great job.
Ooh, I wasn’t expecting that and really felt it! Powerful little poem, Background Story… your last lines always have a way of delivering a punch, no matter the subject, happy or sad!
Oops! So sorry that happened to you (or anybody!)
I have had to cross two off in the last month – far too young to be crossed off too.
We are so much more than bodies aren’t we!
I’m so sorry to hear that, Christine.
I agree. The resilience of the human spirit is far more than the strength of the body.
Bah. A lot of the times I can’t read your blog without shedding at least one or two tears.. maybe I’m just a little fussy 😛
Love you Backgroundstory! ♥♥♥
Nah, you’re not fussy. Or maybe we just all are. 🙂
It’s a comfort to see people from all over the world finding something here that they can relate to. It’s a reminder that no matter how different we all are from each other, we are essentially the same.
This brought to mind the year after my mother died, when I turned a page in my diary and discovered a note that it was her birthday.
This is really sad. 😦
Those words leave you with a such a profound sense of loss. Very well crafted. 🙂
Ouch (on the words). Like all those calves, interesting viewpoint.
