Vol. 2 Ch. 1 P. 11
Each day, I write letters in the sand.
Then, I watch the waves wash them away.
People around me gather to ask why I even bother.
I don’t say that you are on the other side, waiting for the tide,
for the waves to crash upon the shore —
to hear from me once more.
Then, I watch the waves wash them away.
People around me gather to ask why I even bother.
I don’t say that you are on the other side, waiting for the tide,
for the waves to crash upon the shore —
to hear from me once more.
Everything about this post is simply beautiful. Well done! π
This photo is just so beautiful, and even paired with such romantic words. Amazing!
Absolutely stunning! Keep up the amazing work π
Is that sand or rock? Stunning photo!
It is sand. π It is not part of the shore — it is usually covered by water, but when it’s low tide, the waters recede so far back. π
So perfect… π₯ β₯
Waves can transmit messages? What a delightful thought! The photo is stunning. The words send the reader on an imaginary journey to a magical world where even water is a message, at least metaphorically. Wonderful conclusion to a trying day.
Thank you for another thoughtful comment, Thomas! I’ve always been amazed at what waves can carry in, so why not messages? (= Anyway, I’m sorry to hear about your trying day. I hope everything is okay. How’s everything going now?
What an incredible photo. And the words conjure up a peaceful sadness – a knowing acceptance.
It’s quite interesting that you see sadness in this. π
Romantic. I like how your brain weaves these words. π
Ah, but it is the heart that speaks louder — at least, in this case. π
BEAUTIFULLY said!!!
π Lovely. I like the beach too, it reminds me of the beach here!
Where are you from, Ina? π
The island of Terschelling, The Netherlands π
I Googled it and it’s a beautiful place! It must be great to live somewhere near that area. π
Really great images and words conjured up by this piece!
BTW …

The ways and means of communication are mysterious, indeed. Thank you all for this most gorgeous reminder of the need to “keep on, keeping on” with the loving, the reaching out.
Yes, social media at its most natural. π
I undestand, and love the idea of it.
You have excelled yourselves this time.
The photo and the words fit together perfectly
And I am enchanted by the thought of the writing being washed up on a farther shore.
I will write on the beach the next time I go to Whitby and think of your words
David
Thank you, David! π
And you should. You never know who gets to read them on the other side. π
