neither. The one that left made a decision to leave, the one that stayed decided to stay. Both didn’t know what they wanted, so they chose to return to what is known, predictable and comfortable.
Could be neither.. Could be both. Could be because of comfort, could be because of “love” Ahaha. Again, just messing with your minds. 😀
Mess away, my dear friend. The question you posed is a philosophical one at best, and a subjective one at worst. It is good to get people thinking of such issues.

Maybe they stayed because they didn’t know any better. Or maybe they’re a coward.
The same can be said about the one who came back. 😀
The one who came back is like the returning light of the sunrise. The prodigal son was rejoiced and banqueted and robed and ringed in honor for his returning. Imagine the returning of Our Lord in all power and great glory!

Sometimes I think so too, but then the other one stayed for so long, and now I’m confused.

The one who never left might have gotten used to the idea of that special someone. Sometimes there’s no more love when it comes to the one who never left, instead, it’s self preservation from having to dive into the big unknown. Confusing indeed…
The one who came back might also have the same reason for coming back, don’t you think? Realizing the big unknown, they went back to what is safe, for self-preservation. (Just messing with your mind :D)
