i did, in fact, give you up. I realized that my absence from your life is what will make you happy. I have removed myself from your life’s equation. You had better be happier now, one of us should be.
I have been so fortunate in my life. I have never had to give up the love of my life, and, looking at this photograph and thinking about these words, I feel as if I have, in old age, achieved a joy that not everyone has had the blessing to experience. This is a wonderful post–thought provoking as always. I come here for peace because of the beauty of the photographs and the words and more often than not leave thinking.
I’m happy to know that you never had to experience giving up someone. 🙂 Not everyone gets lucky in that department. Yes, it is indeed good fortune! 🙂 – L

Sweet and heart wrenching at the same time…

Sometimes, giving up a person as “one’s own” is actually in the best interests of that person! Wonderfully wise post.
So true. I had firsthand experience. But it’s all good now. 🙂 – L
Ahhhh, the words of the soul. 🙂
