Vol. 2 Ch. 6 P. 6

fathers, dads, happy father's day, father, swing, daughter, son

You used to push me on the swing when I was too young, too small, too light.
When I could finally do it by myself, you stepped back and watched from afar.
You let me be, but you waited, ready to rush to my side in case I needed you.
Through the years, I got on many swings — some higher and rustier than most —
and with each one, I needed you less.
But you never stopped watching and waiting,
even when you knew I was strong enough to take care of myself.
If you’ve ever wondered where I get strength,
I want you to know that I get it from you.
