Vol. 1 Ch. 3 P. 18
Your heart, over time,
becomes a mass of bruises and scratches —
taped where torn and sewn where ripped.
But your heart, no matter how scarred,
was made big enough to fit the world in it.

Love this one.
I come here when I need a bit of peace, and Background Story, the four of you always deliver with beauty, humor sometimes, and even inspiration.
Glad to be of service, Thomas. π
Another great truth, Background Story – the more used and battle-scarred our hearts, the larger their capacity for love! (And I love all your beautiful posts!)
LOVE the photo! Just perfect for this message! I have always thought, and been taught by wise elders, that our hearts, if NOT scratched and torn here and there, is not a true heart–certainly not a brave-heart, not a dragon-heart (as we Welsh folk think of it!)
I would like to believe that scar tissue makes the heart tougher without making it hard. π
I love the idea of a battle-scarred being called a dragon heart!
Excellent, Excellent post with a photo that fits perfectly with the words. Good stuff !!!
Wonderful, wonderful words.
I may print them off and pin them on my cork board.
I do hope you are all safe from the weather conditions I have been reading about in your part of the world.
David
Thank you for your concern, David. We appreciate it. π
We live almost 800 kilometers from the area, so we’re safe, but it’s still sad news for the whole country, especially it’s almost Christmas. The northern part of the country often gets hit by typhoons, not the southern part, so this disaster really took them by surprise. π¦
the photo and the caption touch my heart and soul… striking…
Do you guys have to write so that you put me to tears? You’re so awesome all four of you β₯
